This project aims to provide monthly food baskets to the most vulnerable refugee families who are suffering from food insecurity due to displacement, conflict, and poverty. These families often lack access to consistent and nutritious food sources, which affects their physical and emotional well-being, especially for children, pregnant women, and the elderly.
What the Project Provides:
Each food basket is carefully designed to include essential, nutrient-rich, and shelf-stable items that can sustain a family of five for an entire month. The contents typically include:
25 kg of flour
10 kg of rice
5 liters of cooking oil
5 kg of sugar
2 kg of lentils
2 kg of bulgur or pasta
Salt, tea, canned goods, or other locally available staples
The content may be slightly adjusted depending on regional food availability and local dietary habits.
Goals:
Ensure monthly food security for displaced and vulnerable refugee families
Reduce the risk of malnutrition, especially among children
Alleviate economic pressure on families with no or limited income
Strengthen social stability by addressing basic humanitarian needs
Implementation Approach:
Beneficiary Selection: Families are selected based on vulnerability criteria, including household size, number of dependents, disability status, and income level.
Distribution Process: Food baskets are distributed monthly through local partners, community centers, or directly to families in camps and settlements.
Monitoring: Monthly reporting and feedback from beneficiaries will help us track effectiveness and adjust as needed.
Impact:
Over a three-month period, the project aims to support approximately 500 families (around 2,500 individuals). This intervention will help stabilize families, reduce hunger-related suffering, and contribute to healthier and more resilient communities.
