About the Project

🌙 Fasting Expiation (Kaffarah) Campaign – Feed a Fasting Person in Need

During the blessed month of Ramadan, some individuals may be unable to fast due to valid religious reasons, or may be required to offer expiation (Kaffarah) for breaking their fast under specific circumstances. Islam has made expiation a means of mercy — combining accountability with compassion through feeding those in need.

Allah says in the Qur’an:

"Its expiation is the feeding of a needy person."

🕌 What Is Kaffarah or Fidya for Fasting?

Kaffarah (expiation) or Fidya (compensation) involves feeding a person in need for each missed fast, depending on the specific situation:

  • Fidya: For those who are permanently unable to fast (such as the elderly or chronically ill), one needy person must be fed for each missed day.
  • Kaffarah: In certain cases of intentionally breaking a fast without valid excuse, expiation may require feeding multiple needy persons, as defined by Islamic rulings.

We encourage donors to consult a qualified scholar for personal religious guidance if needed.
