The Winter Heating Project initiated by Elvefa for Relief and Development aims to provide critical heating materials and supplies to families in Northern Syria during the winter season. Due to the harsh winter conditions, displaced families are facing severe shortages of heating materials, leading to increased suffering in already vulnerable conditions. This project seeks to ease the burden on 1,500 families by providing essential heating materials and supplies to survive the cold months.

Project Objectives:

  1. Providing Essential Supplies: Distributing critical winter items like mattresses, blankets, and pillows to 1,500 families in Northern Syria.
  2. Improving Heating Access: Providing heating fuel (diesel or coal) and stoves to ensure families can maintain warmth throughout the winter.
  3. Relieving Financial Burden: Reducing the financial strain on displaced families by providing these materials for free.

Project Justifications:

  • Harsh Winter Conditions: The winter season in Northern Syria is extremely cold, especially for families living in tents and temporary shelters.
  • Lack of Resources: Families have limited access to basic winter necessities like heating fuel, blankets, and proper shelter.
  • Displacement Crisis: The ongoing crisis has forced families to live in temporary shelters with little to no protection from the harsh winter.

Project Outputs:

  • Daily Distribution: Supplying essential winter items like mattresses, blankets, and pillows to 1,500 families.
  • Fuel Supply: Providing heating fuel (diesel or coal) to each family for warmth.
  • Stoves and Accessories: Distributing stoves to ensure families can safely heat their shelters during the winter.

Project Activities:

  1. Beneficiary Data Update: Collaborating with local authorities to ensure accurate data on targeted households.
  2. Material Procurement: Securing necessary supplies such as mattresses, blankets, pillows, heating fuel, and stoves.
  3. Worker Recruitment: Hiring workers to assist with the distribution and setup of the heating materials.
  4. Transportation: Contracting vehicles to distribute the supplies to targeted families.
  5. Daily Distribution: Ensuring each family receives the correct allocation of supplies.
  6. Monitoring and Evaluation: Implementing tracking systems to ensure timely and effective delivery of supplies.
  7. Reporting: Providing regular narrative and financial reports to donors.

Expected Results:

  • Improved Living Conditions: By providing essential winter supplies, 1,500 families will have improved protection and comfort during the cold months.
  • Increased Access to Heating: Families will have access to safe and reliable heating solutions, reducing the risk of illness and death from exposure to the cold.
  • Economic Support: Providing supplies will relieve the financial burden on families who cannot afford basic winter necessities.
